In a northern English town called Cumberland, attention has been drawn to him for the first time in the year. He has made a special name for himself there and in the surrounding area thanks to his outstanding service in fox and badger hunting. It was the year 1800.
And yet it took another 178 years until attention was finally paid to this dog breed in the USA. The dog is still very popular there today. In other countries, it is still unknown or very little represented.
