#4 Its outstanding distinguishing feature is the extremely flat nose and the spherical eyes – created by deliberate but controversial breeding: the snout was literally bred away for the child pattern, the head became more and more round, the eyes protruded more and more.

This had consequences such as severe breathing difficulties and misaligned teeth or prolapsed eyes. Here one also speaks of torment breeding.

#5 Apparently, however, some breeders showed understanding, because the breed is now being bred again with more pronounced snouts – just as they originally looked.
