#11 In 1933, the French dog breed club Société Centrale Canine created the first breed standard for the Bichon Frisé.

#12 During World War II, the Bichon Frisé (like many other dog breeds) was almost wiped out.

Food and money were scarce, and deadly diseases raged among many livestock. But it is thanks to a few committed breeders from France and Belgium that the white fur balls can still be admired today.
