Papillons and long-haired Chihuahuas look a little alike. However, the papillon has plenty of long, fringed hair on its ears, which makes the eavesdroppers appear butterfly-shaped. His tail is also hairier.
The Papillon is up to 28 cm larger than a Chihuahua and often heavier at 2.5 – 5 kg. His character is friendly and energetic. They are suitable for beginners and are considered easy to maneuver. The Papillon has always been a companion dog and makes an excellent family dog.
Please do not decide based on appearance alone, but familiarize yourself with the requirements, special features, and character of the respective breed.
