There are no specifications for the size of these dogs in the breed standard, instead, the weight is used as a measure. The ideal weight for Chihuahuas is between 1.5 kg and 3 kg.

#1 Animals under 1 kg or over 3 kg will be disqualified at shows.

#2 Extremes above or below this ideal weight are considered torture breeding.

#3 As a general rule, the Chihuahua’s body is longer rather than tall, and the legs are well muscled.
