Yorkshire Terriers are not beginner dogs. They have a hunting instinct and are very independent and self-confident. They need a very consistent upbringing.
Unlike the Chihuahua, their grooming is also quite demanding. They need to be trimmed regularly and many owners prefer visits to the groomer.
The genuine hunting dog is 19-23 cm tall and weighs around 3.2 kg.
