5 Tips: This Will Help Your Cat With Diarrhea

Our house tigers are much more than just pets and brighten up the otherwise dreary everyday life immensely. But what if your beloved cat is not feeling well and is plagued by diarrhea? With these tips, your sweetheart will quickly recover.

Feed them bland foods

The ingredients in cat food are not always good for your pet. Even if you haven’t had any symptoms so far, your cat may have developed an intolerance over time. A change of diet can help.

In order to bring your cat’s stomach back into balance, it is advisable to feed it a light diet. This easily digestible and unseasoned food relieves the stomach and intestines and can counteract diarrhea. If necessary, let your veterinarian advise you on which food makes sense.

Some cooked chicken with rice also sometimes works wonders for cat diarrhea.

Pay attention to the amount you drink

In the case of diarrhea, whether in humans, dogs, or cats, the body loses a great deal of fluid. Therefore, make sure that your cat drinks enough during the illness.

A drinking fountain, like water features, encourages the cat to drink and ensures that the cat’s body does not dry out and the animal recovers quickly.

Use the healing power of yogurt

If your house cat suffers from diarrhea, some yogurt can also help. A good, organic, and probiotic yogurt in small portions and fed at room temperature brings your velvet paw’s gastrointestinal tract back into balance.

You can administer the important bacteria contained in the yogurt either in the form of a simple natural yogurt or in capsule form. Test what your cat accepts better.

Make your darling fast

Every now and then, a fasting day can work wonders for gastrointestinal disorders. If your cat has diarrhea, you can give her nothing to eat for a day to help her recover quickly. The stomach empties itself completely and also excretes any incompatible substances that your kitty has ingested.

The day after the fast you should feed your cat bland food (see above) to gently get your cat used to solid food again.

Don’t wait too long and go to the vet

Of course, you can counteract your cat’s illness and support its recovery with the above tips. Nevertheless, if your cat has persistent diarrhea or is lethargic, a visit to the vet is essential. After all, more serious things can also be behind it, such as giardia.

It is better to have your darling examined once too much than once too little. Your cat should definitely be worth it to you!

We wish your velvet paw a speedy recovery!
