#10 It is historically known that the Blenheim color (white-red) was obtained by Sir John Churchill Marlborough (1650-1722), the ancestor of Sir Winston Churchill, at Blenheim Castle, hence the name of the color.
#11 History tells us that King Charles II was rarely seen without two or three Kings.
His love for his little pets was so great that he could not part with them for a long time. Therefore, a decree was issued that King Charles Spaniel should be accepted in any public place, including in the chambers of parliament, where animals, as a rule, are not allowed.
In England, this decree is still in effect.
#12 With the passage of time, and with the advent of fashion for short-faced dogs imported from Japan and China in the 18th century, the King’s appearance changed. Spaniels began to be crossed with pugs and chins.
The head was rounded, the ears dropped lower, the tail bent. The character also changed, features of stubbornness appeared. Since at that time there were no breed standards and dog shows, the original type was almost completely lost.
