#13 During the reign of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) in 1886, the Toy Spaniel Club was founded, each variety got its own name.
Toy spaniels and black and tan color came to be called king Charles, tricolor - prince Charles, red & white - Blenheim, and a red - ruby spaniel.
#14 In 1926 Visitors to the Kraft Dog Show canine show for the first time noticed that the spaniels shown have very little in common with their ancestors in the paintings.
American Roswell Eldridge undertook an action to find in England toy spaniels of the old type, the one that was reflected in the painting by Sir Edwin Landseer "The Cavalier's Dogs". But all he could find were short-faced Charlies. In 1926, he secured a £ 25 award from the Kennel Club to anyone who would present an old-style King Charles Spaniel at the Craft within five years.
In 1928, Miss Mostyn Walker's dog Ann .s Son won the prize, but unfortunately, Eldridge died at the age of 70 a month before Crufts and never saw the result.
#15 In 1928, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel club was founded.
The "new" old breed received the additional name "Cavalier", which is also associated with well-known historical events, De lo in what "Cavaliers" were called supporters of King Charles I during the civil war against Cromwell (1599-1658).
