Bred as a sled dog, this breed is extremely social and has an even temperament, as pack conflicts were not tolerated with these working animals. Alaskan Malamutes are friendly, alert, playful, and need a lot of attention. They are used to being part of a family unit every second. It is therefore difficult if not impossible to regularly leave them alone at home for more than half a day. This dog breed is therefore not at all suitable for busy people.
