A Chihuahua’s bite force, measured in PSI (pounds per square inch), has never been officially determined. For large and strong breeds such as the Rottweiler, Kangal, or Mastiff, however. Some breeds have achieved powers of up to around 740 PSI.
A dog’s bite power is determined by its head, jaw shape, and size. The Chihuahua has a small, rounded head and a narrow, short muzzle. Its bite power is rated at around 100 PSI, according to some sources.
Serious injuries from a Chihuahua should therefore not occur. But the little dog from Mexico can leave bleeding, bruises, bite marks, scratches, and the like when it attacks someone. Injuries to adults are far less serious than to children and babies. The Chihuahua can be dangerous for them and leave worse wounds.
