19+ Shih Tzu Mixes You Didn’t Know Existed

When you ask people to name their top 5 adorable dogs, you can almost guarantee that the Shih Tzu will be at the top of most people’s lists. The Shih Tzu translates to “lion’s dog” and is believed to have originated from Tibet about 1,100 years ago. He’s been a favorite of the Chinese royal family for a long time, and when this perfect puppy looks at you with his big eyes and beautiful hair, you can’t help but understand why.

With a very friendly and cheerful disposition, it will make an excellent pet. He’s also calm, happy to mess around with his human flock, and thoroughly entertains with his mischievous play for both family and strangers. This breed has no hunting or digging, and as long as it is in the spotlight, it will be happy to follow you and lie lazily at your feet all day. This puppy sheds minimally and is often classified as a hypoallergenic dog breed.

As with most popular breeds, there has been a lot of experimentation with Shih Tzu crossbreeding.
