The Border Collie gained international fame as an excellent herding dog. He is very capable of learning, has a pronounced urge to move, and loves sporting variety. As a pure family dog, he feels underutilized very quickly and must therefore be sufficiently occupied mentally and physically.

The Border Collie is considered to be an intelligent fellow who is willing to work. The breed also likes to prove this at (sporting) competitions – e.g. B. agility or sheep herding.
