The English Springer Spaniel is considered to be the fastest representative of all (British) Spaniel breeds due to its strong physique, its long legs, and its efficient and energetic gait.
As a hunting (original) dog, the English Springer Spaniel is a friendly, alert, and docile dog. He is very obedient and docile and has a high social need. He usually chooses a person in a family group to whom he is particularly attached and never leaves his side. In his homeland he is therefore nicknamed “velcro dog” – i.e. “climbing dog”. As smart and pleasant dogs, they are also ideal as working dogs such as therapy dogs, rescue dogs, or tracking dogs or for a wide variety of dog sports such as agility or obedience. In addition, a kind of balance to the pure life as a family dog is very important for this breed. Because the urge to move and fun with brain work is in the blood of the English Springer Spaniel which wants to be challenged and encouraged.
