Saint Bernard is available as a short-haired or stick-haired and as a long-haired variant. These are each characterized by a dense, smooth-fitting coat with a pronounced undercoat and pants on the thighs. In the case of the long-haired representatives, the medium-length fur can be slightly wavy, especially on the flanks and on the back. The base color of Saint Bernard is white, which is complemented by patches or a torn or continuous coat of reddish-brown. A few darker or black spots on the body are allowed by breed standards.
