Tips: Right Food for Indoor Cats

When it comes to food, indoor cats have different needs than outdoor cats. You should bear this in mind when feeding the house tiger.

Indoor cats usually don’t get as much exercise as their peers who can romp outside. If the velvet paw is used to it, it doesn’t necessarily make it worse – you should only adapt its food to it. Because those who are less active also need less energy. Clear feeding times are generally important. The cat should not have constant access to its food but should get used to it and stick to certain intervals.

Food: Wet or Dry Food?

The question often arises as to whether indoor cats are better served with wet food or the dry version. There is no general answer to this – it depends above all on the preferences and tolerance of your velvet paw. Different breeds also have different needs. With a mixture, you are usually well-advised. For example, give your pet dry food in the morning and a portion of wet food at dinner.

In the meantime, there are already special varieties for indoor tigers on the market. It is up to you whether you only want to feed such ready-made products or whether you want to cook something for your indoor cat yourself. Variety is always a good idea to avoid boredom .

Indoor Cats: Be Careful, Overweight!

Since your pet doesn’t come out, doesn’t chase mice and can’t romp through the garden, it needs less energy than an outdoor cat on the one hand – on the other hand, the cat has no opportunity to supplement its food with fresh “prey”. So keep the amounts of food in moderation, but treat your house tiger to a (healthy) snack in between.
