There are various reasons why the mixed-breed dog takes first place by a wide margin. On the one hand, many people buy a mixed breed dog that is cheaper than a pedigree dog for cost reasons. On the other hand, this also has animal welfare reasons: Many animal lovers decide on a mixed breed – either from the animal shelter or from an “accidental” litter from the surrounding area – to give these animals the chance of a happy and healthy life. We emphatically support this decision and are happy about every dog that finds a home where it is loved, even if it is not a breed.
