New: Smart Paws Offers Coverage Where Others Refuse

Smart Paws health insurance for dogs and cats has been available on the German market since March 2021. It offers new opportunities to protect yourself against high veterinary costs, for example for old dogs and cats.

In Germany, only very few dogs and cats have health insurance – significantly less than in Great Britain, for example. In surveys, many pet owners state that they are thinking about the topic, but apparently the tariffs offered so far have not met their expectations. For example, breed-related hereditary diseases were often excluded and older animals were no longer insured.

Smart Paws animal health insurance, founded by the British veterinarian Prof. Dick White, now also offers internationally proven tariffs in Germany that help to solve these problems.

What are the Benefits of Smart Paws?

According to their own statements, Smart Paws is currently the only insurance company on the German market that waives the right to cancel in the event of damage. This guarantees lifelong insurance protection without an age limit, which also includes hereditary or congenital diseases.

With the Wise Paws tariff, Smart Paws also offers dogs and cats that are older than 8 years comprehensive insurance cover, which only excludes existing pre-existing conditions.

Smart Paws does not have so-called “sublimity”, which covers the costs for certain diseases and thus excludes the need for complex examinations and therapies.

It is important to the Smart Paws founders to communicate the services clearly and concisely so that there are no hidden exclusions to fear. They also attach great importance to processing refunds quickly and easily. Billing directly with the veterinary practice is possible, so you do not have to pay in advance.

Dr. Holter’s Conclusion

Unfortunately, from our daily practical experience, we know how often the joy of a healed animal is clouded by the shock of the amount of the bill. That is why we wish for the future that as many of our patients as possible are covered by good health insurance.

As veterinarians, we can tell from Dr. Hölter will of course not recommend any insurance to you, but only explain what can happen to you and your animal in the event of illness and what you should pay attention to. From our point of view, Smart Paws closes previous gaps in insurance cover for animals.

If you have already thought about how you can best cover the costs of an operation, complex diagnostics, or a chronic illness in your four-legged friend, Smart Paws may now offer you a suitable solution.
