Before you get into trouble and jeopardize the good neighborhood, you should coordinate your construction plans well with the people who live around you. Perhaps you can agree that the fence, which is a bit unsightly because of its height, should be overgrown with beautiful plants that are non-toxic to cats.
You should not only coordinate the construction with your neighbors but also with the building authority. Depending on the regulations in your place of residence, fences of a certain height are subject to approval and require that you coordinate your project with the building authority and have it approved.
Choosing a Suitable Fence & Planning
When it comes to finding the right fence that will really keep your house cat from straying, it is best to seek professional advice. Since the costs for a corresponding fence can sometimes be twice as high as for a normal fence, it is of course all the more important that everything is perfectly designed and constructed.
Also, when building, consider including possible escape routes your pet might have through climbing trees or bushes that are close to the fence. These should therefore also be removed or transplanted.
