Do Chihuahuas Get Along With Other Dogs?

This is a matter of socialization. Unfortunately, many owners make the mistake of not letting their Chihuahuas play with other four-legged friends when they are puppies. The risk that, for example, the shepherd puppy could accidentally injure the little Chihuahua child in the game is too high.

There is some truth to this fear, but owners should still be careful not to let the Chi play with other dogs. For example in a puppy play lesson for small dog breeds. Dogs of similar caliber come together here and can romp and learn together.

However, it is important that these hours of play are regulated. Bullying among dogs should be avoided. Because if you have bad experiences as a puppy, you will later approach other four-legged friends suspiciously. Likewise, your puppy should not be allowed to play the brawler itself and oppress other four-legged friends. In this way, he only learns that he has to hold his own against fellow dogs.

If the Chihuahua is later to get along with large dogs, it could be introduced to friendly four-legged friends. In the beginning, everyone can stay on a leash. Please only pick up your little Chi if there really is a danger to him. Otherwise, he won’t learn how to deal with his counterpart.
