Cats are Particularly Cuddly in Winter

When it gets colder outside in winter, cats seem to have a particular fondness for snuggling up inside. They often show themselves to be extraordinarily cuddly towards their loved ones. What’s behind it?

It is particularly noticeable with outdoor cats that they are particularly domestic and cuddly in winter. In addition, they get their winter fur when the temperatures are cold and are then even more fluffy than usual. So use the otherwise uncomfortable wintertime to cuddle with your cat and take care of their fur.

Cats Seek Warmth in Winter

Despite their soft winter fur, cats are often too cold and uncomfortable outside in winter. Therefore, they prefer to look for cozy warmth indoors and love it when you are available for additional cuddles. If your cat is also very cuddly in winter, don’t be afraid to curl up on the sofa with a warm blanket from time to time. Then your furry friend will prefer to be near you. However, stay calm and relaxed so that your kitty can arrive on its own.

Otherwise, you can offer your cat a cozy home in winter by placing a cat bed near the heater or fireplace. Many cats also appreciate it if you provide them with a heating pad. But be careful: It must not be too hot, otherwise, your house cat will burn its paws.

Enjoy the Fur Care

However, the dry air from the heating can mean that your cat suffers from dry, sensitive skin. Scales can form, which you can easily remove with a gentle brush massage. Gentle grooming also improves blood flow to your cat’s skin and protects it from the cold.

In addition, there is hardly anything nicer in winter than cuddling up with the cat in the warm living room and listening to her purr during the small wellness treatment.
