12 Amazing Pictures Of Bearded Collies To Brighten Your Day

#4 The origin of the Bearded Collie, as it is known around the world today, goes back to a breeding line that was founded around 1940 by Gwendoline Olive Willison and her dog Jeannie.

She searched for a long time for a suitable partner for Jeannie, which she finally found in a male named Bailie. Together, as the Bothkennar family, they contributed most to the appearance of the modern Bearded Collie.

#5 In 1955 the “Bearded Collie Club” was founded, in 1989 the Bearded Collie “Potterdale Classic at Moonhill” won the Crufts dog show and gave the hitherto relatively unknown dog breed a great boost.

#6 Nowadays, the Bearded Collie is bred almost exclusively as a companion and family dog.
