Soft brushes made of natural hair or with slightly coarser natural bristles are ideal for long-haired Chihuahuas. This makes it easy to brush out dust and dirt and also gives the fur a nice shine.
There are also double-ended brushes that have bristles on one side and metal or rubber pins on the other. Similar to a hairbrush for humans.
However, in order to avoid matting, owners of long-haired Chihuahuas should regularly use a fine-toothed comb and use it to thoroughly comb through the fur. Otherwise, unsightly knots and tangles will quickly develop.
