Obie has lost a whopping 50 pounds thanks to dieting and lots of hard training.
Obie was long considered the fattest dog in the world. The dachshund weighed 35 kilograms. He was so fat that he had to wear a special device in order not to injure himself.
But the good years are over. Obie was put on a strict diet. There was also hard training. The dog lost a total of 22 kilograms. Similar to humans, however, he also had to struggle with excess skin. So Obie got another tummy tuck.
The result is impressive. Obie is barely recognizable. Slender and slim, he walks on a beach in Washington state.
He has his new owner Nora Vanatta to thank for the slimming cure. She adopted Obie from his old owner who had fattened him up. Now Vanatta wants to help other pet owners feed their animals healthily.
