The Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen is bold, alert, fast, and somewhat stubborn. He is the perfect hunting dog. From hare hunting to wild boar, he can find his prey. He likes to make his own decisions. If he should smell something, nothing can stop the short-legged griffon from looking for it. Then they quickly forget about education.

He is cheerful and confident. In addition, he is very friendly to children and adults. In Germany, he is mostly seen as a family dog. At home, he is a very happy roommate but needs lots of attention, exercise, and exercise.

Note: He is not a fast hound, so you should be patient with him. This breed is still relatively unknown in Germany and is mostly kept as a mixed breed.
