Homeopathic Emergency & Travel Pharmacy For Cats

Drops and globules cannot replace the veterinarian, but they can offer an additional starting point – for a holistic treatment of the animal patient.

It is common practice in many veterinary practices that cats not only have a bandage applied to paw injuries, but also homeopathic treatment: Arnica D6, for example, helps to heal fresh wounds, and Calendula D2 with bites and older injuries. The animal does not necessarily have to take the remedy: applied as an ointment or wound balm, it can also develop its power.

“Mysterious Powers”

So far it is not even clear what this “power” actually consists of. Since the discovery of homeopathic medicine by the doctor Samuel Hahnemann more than 200 years ago, it has not been possible to scientifically explain the active principle. Despite this, homeopathy can really help and is not a “placebo therapy”, as is repeatedly claimed, is shown by the impressive successes of experienced homeopaths: In cases in which conventional medicine no longer knew what to do, they finally succeeded in curing the patient. A lot depends on the treating therapist. Since homeopathy does not deal with the clinical picture alone, but always also with the patient and his overall appearance, there can be no panacea for the treatment of certain diseases. A large portion of the patient and thus animal knowledge is just as much part of the craft as extensive knowledge of the various remedies and their effects.

Help For Self-Healing

For true homeopathic treatment, you should always consult a specialist, preferably a veterinarian with an additional qualification in homeopathy. If you cannot find anyone in your area, you can also contact the Central Association of Physicians for Naturopathic Treatment (ZÄN), which will send out a list of veterinarians who practice homeopathy (ZÄN, Alfred. 21, D-72250 Freudenstadt). Of course, there are also some limitations to be considered with this form of therapy: Homeopathy supports the body in getting disease conditions under control itself: It is a matter of regulatory medicine. It can therefore only be used in the body and can still counter-regulate itself. End-stage diseases, e.g. chronic kidney disease with irreversible destruction of kidney tissue, can no longer be controlled by homeopathy either. Kidney damage due to poisoning, on the other hand, can be treated well with Flor di Piedra 6X after conventional medical emergency care.

The First Route Is Still To The Vet

In any case, it makes sense to consult your veterinarian or a small animal practitioner with homeopathic experience. Also bear in mind that protracted illnesses are often more time-consuming and expensive to cure than illnesses diagnosed early and treated professionally. Our recommendation is, therefore: At the first sign of illness, go to your veterinarian to clarify the cause and let him recommend additional homeopathic treatment. Then you can be sure that your animal will be helped in a holistic sense.
