However, that doesn’t mean you should just leave your dog alone. There are many things you can do to keep your four-legged friend entertained. That way, the little furry friend won’t get bored. It also keeps the dog physically and mentally active.
Here are some tricks and toys that your dog will enjoy playing with.
Sniff Stack/Sniff Carpet
Dogs love to sniff. It’s her natural instinct. However, thanks to their excellent sense of smell, treats in normal hiding places can be found and eaten in a very short time.
So make it a little harder for your four-legged friend when he is alone and hide a treat in a large blanket, which you then scrunch up. So the dog has something to do when he wants to find his reward. And that can take a while.
Of course, this trick can also be performed with several blankets and several treats if the dog is particularly clever and you want to challenge it a little more.
Surprise package
Be creative and put together a surprise package for your four-legged friend that he has to fiddle with in order to receive his reward in the form of treats.
Wrap them in the paper – several times if you want. Another good idea is empty toilet paper rolls in which you hide a treat and squeeze both corners. So the four-legged friend first has to find out how to open the rollers.
You can also equip a large box with newspaper and several treats. Here, too, the dog has something to do. However, be prepared for a lot of scraps of paper lying around in the room.

Filled ball
If you look around in the pet shop, you will quickly notice that treat balls for dogs, in particular, have become very popular. You can open them and fill them with goodies. Then you close it again and give it to your four-legged friend. He will dwell on it for quite a while, trying to get hold of the fragrant snack.
These balls are available in many versions, including a slightly more complicated version with an integrated labyrinth: the treats only fall out if you roll the ball in a certain direction.
Important: Decide on a model made of soft rubber. Plastic is not suitable and can seriously damage the animal’s teeth.
