Diarrhea & Vomiting In Cats

Indigestion always comes back. Usually, they are harmless and forgotten after a day.

Causes

Most of the time, the cat has eaten something that it cannot tolerate. Worms, viruses, and bacteria can cause both stomach and intestinal irritation. Certain toxins also trigger stomach and intestinal problems.

Symptoms

Vomiting and diarrhea are symptoms that do not need to be described in detail. What is important is what other symptoms accompany it. If you have a loss of appetite, fever, weakness, tremors, or if a young animal is sick, you must go to the vet.

Measures

In the case of digestive disorders, the cat should fast (but not for more than a day). However, water must be available to her at all times. Special electrolyte mixtures should be added to the water in severe cases or in young animals. These mixtures must be mixed with the water exactly according to the instructions for use and then correspond to the composition of the body fluid. They are available from the vet and you can store them at your local cat pharmacy for emergencies.

Prevention

Wet food should not be left outside for too long in summer, as it can spoil easily. Leftovers from their owners are not suitable for cats if they are taboo. Regular deworming put worms in their place.
