Change in Cat Food – That’s How it Works

Would you like to change your cat’s diet? Remember that you should approach the change in food carefully. We’ll explain how you can successfully get your cat used to the new food.

Changing the Cat’s Diet – Only Gradually

Slowly get your cat used to the new food by mixing both types of food and plan for a period of at least 7 to 10 days to get used to it. In the meantime, you gradually increase the amount of new food and at the same time reduce the amount of old food. The cat slowly gets used to the smell, taste, and consistency of the new food.

How Much New Feed Should I Mix with the Old Feed?

It has been proven to start slowly with the change and only mix in ¼ teaspoon on the first day. It is best to make a note of how the cat accepts the food and use this to determine the amount of new food for the next day. Perhaps you can mix in ½ teaspoon on the second day – but if your cat reacted hesitantly on the first day, only use 1/8 teaspoon.

Now print out our notepad here for a successful change in the feed.
