Cat In The Car – The Way To The Vet

Most cats don’t like driving, but sometimes it has to be: like when they have to go to the vet.

Because a cat tends to panic when driving in the car, you only take it with you in a well-lockable transport box to be on the safe side. Don’t forget to protect this box in the car with the seat belt from being thrown through the vehicle in the event of an emergency stop. The velvet paw should always be secured. If an accident occurs due to a cat jumping around in the interior, the car insurance will pay for the damage incurred but will claim it back from the driver. The best way for house cats to travel is in a transport basket, in the rear behind a partition grille, or buckled up with a cat safety belt on the back seat, in any case on a waterproof surface.

Longer Rides

For longer journeys, the transport container must be large enough to accommodate a small travel litter box. If you take two well-tolerated cats with you in the car, both can also travel in a large kennel. But they also accept sitting in two separate boxes. Before and during a long car ride, the cat is better off not getting anything to eat. It is better to take frequent breaks on the go and let the cat drink several times. It is better to spare your pet a journey of more than half a day.
