Bake Your Own Dog Biscuits

Getting ready for the holidays is great fun. Decorate, listen to Christmas music and enjoy the scent of freshly baked cookies. Dog biscuits and dog biscuits can also smell delicious. Dogs love peanut butter, at least everyone I know does. Here I have two great recipes for you that are guaranteed to go down well with your loved ones.

The dog biscuits are made exclusively from fresh ingredients. They contain no preservatives. Therefore, the shelf life is limited. The following recipes will keep in the refrigerator, airtight, for at least 1 week. Both recipes are also suitable for freezing, so that larger quantities can be produced. The recipes are designed for the consumption of two small dogs. If you have very large dogs, you can increase the amount accordingly.

Peanut Cookies

This recipe makes about 2 trays with cutters of different sizes.
Time required: low, 15 minutes plus 25 minutes, baking time

Ingredients

  • 150g wholemeal spelled flour
  • 70g small sheet of rolled oats
  • 3 tablespoons pure peanut butter (e.g. from the organic market)
  • 4 tablespoons pure applesauce and without additional sugar, you can cook very well from an
  • apple yourself
  • 1 egg yolk

Preparation

Peanut biscuits need dough from all the ingredients, roll out on a floured work surface, and cut out biscuits using suitable molds. Make sure the dough is not too thin. I left it about 1/2 inch thick. Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes at 200 degrees (fan oven), then bake for another 15 minutes at 180 degrees. Then leave to cool and dry with the oven door open.

Tip: simply tear small pieces from the leftover dough and bake with them. These are great workout bites in mini.

Dog Biscuits for Allergy Sufferers

For allergic dogs, mashed carrots or mashed pumpkin can be used in place of the peanut butter. If you want to treat your dog to an extra portion of superfoods, you can add 1 tablespoon of seeds to this recipe, for example, linseed, sunflower seeds, hemp seed, or chia seeds.

This recipe makes about 30-40 medium-sized bites.
Time required: low, 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 100ml coconut oil
  • 100ml pure peanut butter
  • silicone molds

Preparation

Peanut BitesMelt the coconut oil in a saucepan over low heat. Add the peanut butter and stir until a homogeneous mass is formed, which resembles the consistency of a thick cream soup.
Remove from the heat and pour into the silicone mold. Place in the freezer for 1 hour. You can also put it in the fridge, but it will take longer. Press the peanut morsels out of the mold and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for about 1 week. Since this recipe is very quick, feel free to refresh these rewards more often. Or freeze them, that’s also wonderful.

Tip: After I filled my silicone mold, there was still a little bit leftover. I simply added oatmeal until a tough mass formed. Then put it in the fridge and form small balls from the hardened dough.

Please test in advance with a small amount whether your dog tolerates peanuts!
