Russian Blue Cat: Tips on Grooming & Keeping

The Russian Blue is one of the most beautiful cats in the world and is simply unmistakable with its dense, shimmering blue fur. If you want to get a velvet paw of this breed, you will bring a very calm cat into your home that requires little maintenance.

The Russian Blue is a special cat, which is also reflected in personality. Sometimes it is reserved and almost unapproachable, sometimes spirited. It’s not pushy at all and doesn’t think much of strangers. However, those who have won its, heart, usually experience it as friendly, loving, and affectionate.

Attitude of the Russian Blue: This Is How It Feels Comfortable

The calm Russian Blue cat is the ideal indoor cat. If she is warm, cuddly, and comfortable, she is happy. One of the other scratching posts for climbing, beautiful vantage points at the window or on the balcony, and regular play units should provide enough variety.

It also likes being close to people and loves being spoiled with lots of cuddles. It doesn’t like being alone and like most cats, being kept alone isn’t doing her any favors. However, it is quite adaptable and usually gets along well with children and other pets – as long as they do not conflict with her need for peace and security. The Russian Blue (like most cats) does not like sudden, loud noises; they are also rather quiet and have a rather soft voice.

Caring for the Beautiful Cat with the Bluish Coat

The coat of the fascinating cat from Russia is soft, short, and particularly dense, as the undercoat and topcoat are of the same length. Brushing it once a week with a medium-soft brush or a massage mitt will do the trick. This care unit is good for them and removes dead fur so that new ones can grow back.

An indoor Russian Blue is usually vaccinated against feline plague and cat flu by the veterinarian and has regular check-ups. Outdoor cats are usually vaccinated against feline leukosis, rabies, and other dangerous cat diseases. However, allowing your Russian Blue to go unsecured is very risky; it is better to have safe access to a nice enclosure or in the garden with a secure cat fence. The Russian Blue cat is not predisposed by hereditary diseases.

Russian Blue cats love to cuddle with their loved ones and with their animal friends. They also enjoy looking out the window and observing the world outside. Despite their quiet nature, they also love to play. Playing hours together with their human family strengthens the bond and is great fun for everyone involved. You can switch back and forth between different games and toys so that you don’t get bored. Hunting games are just as popular as intelligence tasks, toy fishing rods are just as popular as stuffed mice or toys filled with catnip or valerian.
