If you want to increase your Chihuahua puppy’s motivation during training, treats are often the best choice. But which treats are actually suitable for Chihuahua puppies?
On the one hand, the bites should be adapted to the size of the dog-child. They must not be too big, because then there is a risk of choking or the puppy will take forever to chew the treat. Which can interrupt the training for an unnecessarily long time.
Make sure it doesn’t contain any sugar, salt, or colorings. Sugar is bad for your teeth and unfortunately, Chihuahuas often have problems with their little teeth anyway. Problems like this don’t have to be conjured up consciously. Also, sugar can make you fat. By the way, your puppy doesn’t care what the snack looks like. That’s why a treat doesn’t need coloring. Watch out for low-calorie treats.
There are special treats for puppies available in stores. If these are too large, they can often be further crushed. Keep an eye on the number of treats fed and rather subtract some of the daily ration of food to avoid obesity.
By the way, you can also give small pieces of dry food as a reward.
