6 Tips When Bathing Your Dog

Time for a bath? Here are some tips and tricks for bathing your dog.

It is important that the shampoo has the correct pH value (6.3-7.2) so as not to disturb the skin and the moisture balance of the coat. Products for humans are completely wrong.

Today’s dogs usually live in warm homes and therefore change skin and fur constantly, unlike in the past when the dog lived as a farm dog. Exhaust gases, salts, and dirt cause pores to become clogged and a cleansing and moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are important.

A dog can be bathed once a week, but the usual recommendation is every two months.

Conditioner is used on all types of coats, even short-haired ones, to close the scalp and give shine.

It is preferable to bathe the dog in cooler water (20-25 degrees) and a quality shampoo should be diluted. Wet the dog before applying the shampoo mixture, then distribute the shampoo evenly. You can also double shampoo where the dog is dirtier, usually in the lower regions, the beard, and on the stomach.

Before bathing, the dog should be thoroughly brushed, moisture can contract any tangles further.
