6 “Superpowers” of Cats: Is Your Cat a Superhero?

Cats have seven lives – isn’t that enough “superpowers”? No, the cats are full of skills that rival superheroes like Batman.

Cats are real miracle creatures. They make the impossible possible and keep surprising their owners with their “superpowers”. A selection of their fascinating skills can be found here.

Speed

The kitties rush through the apartment on four paws at breakneck speed, especially when they have their wild five minutes. The fluffy tornadoes are so fast that they can often only be seen as a flash in the corner of the eye. They can reach speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour – even beating the Jamaican sprinter and currently the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt.

Agility

Cats fit into even the smallest box. They squirm and twist until their entire body has disappeared into the object of their desire. How does it work? Clearly, elasticity is one of their superpowers.

Bounce

If humans could jump as high as cats, they would be real superheroes. The fur noses manage to jump five times their height – and land gently and unharmed on their paws. A real masterpiece! Even when cats fall, they seem to have superpowers: thanks to their twisting reflex, they almost always manage to turn around so that they land safely on all fours.

Quiet Like a Ninja

The cats’ velvet paws and their elegant movements give her additional “superpowers”. They silently stalk their target when hunting or playing. They reach it unnoticed to get what they want – even if it’s just the delicious sausage from the dining table.

In addition, cats are not only silent but can also make themselves almost invisible when necessary, like a Japanese ninja fighter. Black cats, for example, can hardly be seen on dark surfaces and in the shade, and cats with a tabby pattern blend perfectly into the shadow play of the leaves in the bushes outside in the garden.

Eyesight

Cat eyes are awesome. When it comes to long-distance vision, they are far ahead of humans. At a distance of 100 meters, they can see who is their friend and who is their enemy. And at night, they unleash their full “superpowers” – the pupils open in a circle, allowing them to move safely in the dark.

Hearing Performance

Their sensitive senses are also reflected in the development of a cat‘s hearing. Not only do they hear extremely well, but they are also able to adjust their ears in such a way that they hear exactly what they want to hear – without having to move their heads.
