Pembrokes get along very well with children. But there is one caveat: since the corgi is a herding breed, they can try to “graze” a child by pinching his legs, because this way is prompted by his instinct. Therefore, you will have to teach the puppy that pinching the child’s legs is bad, and the child will need to explain that the dog does not want to do anything wrong with this. For a child, a Pembroke can be a wonderful companion and nanny for many years. Also, these dogs get along well with cats or other dogs. But it is better not to leave the puppy with rats or hamsters, as he will most likely try to play with them, and this may end badly for the rodent.
