If You are Sad
It is sometimes said that dogs have a sixth sense. And of course, you can wonder. They are phenomenal at capturing emotions. If you are sad, sometimes there does not seem to be anyone else who understands as well as the dog. We find comfort in the gaze and presence.
Understand Your Intentions
You barely have time to think about walking before the dog is ready at the front door with your eyes fixed on you and the leash. If there is something that the dog may find a little difficult, such as a bath, it can be felt almost even faster that the dog understands what you have intended to happen. The tail drops and the dog sort of tries to sneak away quietly…
This is due to the fact that the dog has such a good view of our gaze. If we direct our attention in any direction, the dog does the same.
Notice If You are Sick
It is not news that there are dogs that are trained to detect cancer and when a person is having an epileptic seizure. But there are also completely ordinary, untrained family dogs who understand when something is wrong. This is related to secreting substances in certain disease states that the dog can perceive with its very sensitive nose.
Feel If You Get Scared
Here it is also the nose that is there and working. When we get scared, we secrete stress hormones – and the dog’s nose perceives this. Some dogs respond to our fear of going in immediately to protect, while others look at their owner as asking “how do you want me to help you now?”
Understand If You are Unfair
In an Austrian study, two dogs were allowed to perform the same tasks, after each task only one received a reward. The dog that then became without began to scratch itself and lick itself impatiently. however, they did not seem to care if they received different rewards. The bread was as fun as sausage.
If You Start Prioritizing Someone Else
Many dog owners who have had children have probably shared the same concerns – what if the dog becomes jealous of the baby (just as an older sibling could be)? Some dogs are so confident in themselves that they are happy to welcome a new family member, while others can literally try to stand in between.
Continue to show the dog undivided attention from time to time (though not as much as before) and try to make it understand that it is welcome to be involved, albeit with clear boundaries for how it may act around the child.
Feels When You are Angry
You do not have to shout at a dog to understand if you are angry. We have ways of showing anger that we may not think about – but that the dog discovers immediately. It can be about putting our hands in the sides, how we look at the dog, and so on. If the dog has done something it is not allowed to do, it shows feelings of shame by collapsing a little, lowering its head, and looking so sad.
Just keep in mind that a dog can not always tell if you are angry at it or at someone else.
Have Full Control of When to Turn Your Back
Should that delicious steak just rest a little on the kitchen counter before it’s time to slice it up for Sunday dinner? Then maybe it should not rest while you do something else. Understand If a Woman is Pregnant
Again, it is the scent of hormones that triggers the dog. Dogs can detect if women are menstruating and ovulating, so of course, it perceives if she is pregnant and completely overwhelmed by pregnancy hormones. Many pregnant women talk about how the dog wants to stay close and maybe even rest his head against his stomach. Who knows, maybe that baby’s heartbeat too?
Know If You are Kind to Others
Surveys have shown that dogs understand if someone is mean to their master or mistress and that they do not want to socialize then. The owner’s enemy becomes the dog’s enemy. But the dog also feels how you are towards others. The dog reads both your body language and how others react to how you are. Dogs simply prefer to spend time with kind and generous people.
