Gary spent most of his childhood in Alaska, where he was homeschooled by his mother. Later, he moved to Colorado with his family. Gary has two older siblings, Barbara Katy "B.K." Chapman and Tucker Dee Chapman, and six half-siblings from his father’s previous marriages. Despite his unconventional upbringing, Gary excelled academically and graduated from high school with honors. He then went on to attend the University of Colorado, where he studied business management.
