Active Ingredients

Capsaicin is a potent irritant that causes a burning sensation when it comes into contact with the skin, eyes, or mucous membranes. Both Halt and Halt II also contain a propellant that helps to propel the spray out of the canister and onto the dog.
Concentration of Capsaicin
The main difference between Halt and Halt II is the concentration of capsaicin that they contain. Halt II has a higher concentration of capsaicin than Halt, which makes it more effective in repelling aggressive dogs. Halt II contains 0.35% capsaicin, while Halt contains only 0.25% capsaicin. The higher concentration of capsaicin in Halt II means that it is more potent and can cause a stronger burning sensation in the dog’s eyes, nose, and mouth.
