Finding Calm Cat Breeds: Tips

If you’re looking for a laid-back pet, typically calm cat breeds are the ones to go for. But which velvet paws belong to the relaxed contemporaries?

If you like it quiet and relaxed at home, you will not choose a wild house cat with the qualities of a big cat as a pet. There are some quiet cat breeds. They are characterized by a peace-loving, gentle nature. Keeping them as an indoor cat is usually not a problem for these well-balanced four-legged friends.

Calm Cat Breeds: British Shorthair & Russian Blue

A classic representative of the calm cat breed is the British Shorthair. The gentle cat is relaxed and even-tempered. While it loves being around its people, the cat also needs space. The British Shorthair likes to live indoors – as long as they have a little retreat to themselves.

Calm cat breeds also include the Russian Blue . The shy velvet paw loves to play with its humans or other cats, but can also be very busy on her own. It dislikes noise and hectic – the Russian likes it quiet and relaxed.

Tips on Docile Cats

The Maine Coone cat is also a quiet animal. Although she is a house cat in XXL format, the term “gentle giant” definitely applies to this house cat.

The Persian cat is often described as very calm – almost phlegmatic. It is peaceful and never really aggressive. Therefore, it gets along well with children and other cats.
