Is a flea collar dangerous?
If the age group is correct, the flea collar is harmless to the animal. Cat collars should have a rubber insert in the collar so they can slip off the flea collar in a pinch if they become snagged. Alternatively, some collars have a “break point” that tears more easily.
Some even cause skin irritation and fur loss. For the same reasons, it is also not recommended to put a cat flea collar on your puppy. There are more effective methods out there that are considered to be safer to use in killing off these parasites.
