Persian Cat: Keeping & Proper Care

A nice, cat-friendly apartment is completely sufficient for keeping a Persian cat. With its calm temperament, the fluffy velvet paw does not necessarily insist on being released but enjoys cuddling with its favorite person.

Their easy-going temperament makes the Persian cat quite uncomplicated to keep. She doesn’t necessarily need clearance or extravagant climbing opportunities to be happy. She much prefers nice, warm places to cuddle and a lot of love from her owners. But she definitely has nothing against a beautiful view, for example from a comfortable heated lounger by the window!

Persian Cat & Its Ideal Attitude

Cozy baskets, blankets on the sofa, and cuddles from its owner: it is not difficult to make the cozy Persian cat happy. It is moderately active, but not the worst hunter. It likes to get involved in one or the other catching and hunting game with its owner and small to medium-sized scratching opportunities enable it to conscientiously pursue its important claw care.

Balanced food given in small portions supports the health of the pedigree cat and the beauty of the long coat can use a little support from the cat‘s diet, especially during the change of coat. Malt, vitamins, and other nutritional supplements ensure a beautiful coat shine and prevent hairballs from forming.

Grooming: Important & Time-Consuming

The Persian cat’s coat needs to be combed and untangled regularly. Plan enough extra time for this right from the start. You should comb your cat thoroughly once a day or every two days. It’s best to get your pet used to it from an early age, so it’s easier for both of you.

Once the hair of the long-haired cat has become matted, it is very difficult to untangle it again – this is another reason why the Persian cat is not very well suited to being outdoors because sticks and dirt easily get caught in their fur and bind it together. If your cat’s eyes or nose are runny or sticky, you should gently clean the area around them with warm water and a soft, lint-free cloth.
