Are Chihuahuas Dangerous?

Despite their size, Chihuahuas are very brave and alert dogs. They sometimes overestimate themselves, especially when compared to larger or strangers of their own kind. They also tend to defend their humans. Above all, of course, the favorite person.

Although the Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world, a bite can still be very painful or even cause serious injury (especially to small children).

A study examining the behavior and aggression potential of 35 different breeds ended up certifying the Chihuahua as the top dog on this list. It was examined how the dogs react to given situations with people and conspecifics (of different sizes), which they knew or who were strangers to them.

Important:

No dog is aggressive for no reason. Most of these four-legged friends are insufficiently trained or not trained at all. Sometimes the four-legged friend has had bad experiences. With the Chihuahua, however, it is unfortunately often the underestimated urge to move that causes resentment and frustration in the four-legged friend. This then manifests itself as aggressive or snappy behavior.
