How to Secure Your Home for Puppies

Puppies are just like toddlers curious about themselves and they examine everything with their mouths. Lie on the floor and look at what is on the puppy’s level. Small items, trash cans, detergents, and more must be removed.

Hide cords. Attach or remove power cords so that the puppy is not tempted to chew on them.

Block. Set up gates for the rooms where you do not want the puppy to be. Maybe you have inappropriate things in front, maybe a steep staircase, maybe you are afraid of the carpets. An ordinary child gate works great.

Fence the plot. The cheapest puppy garden is made with a compost grid from the garden store. Such a paddock is also easy to expand with several sections.

Clean up. Put away inappropriate things that are at puppy height.

Secure the garden. Remove or place compost grids around poisonous plants in the garden. Also, check that there are no spaces under stairs or outbuildings where the puppy can crawl in and get stuck.
