New Year With the Dog: Where to Have a Really Quiet New Year’s Party

As a dog owner, you probably know too well the problem at the end of the year. On New Year’s Eve, there is a big party and, most importantly, a lot of noise. For most of us humans, are always a sight to behold. But for our best friend, the dog, it’s not so pleasant. It’s just that our fur noses hear us much better and perceive the fireworks and the associated New Year’s stress not only as loud and alarming but sometimes painful. If you want to do your best friend a big favor, avoid the noise of firecrackers and fireworks and go to an area without the hustle and bustle of New Year’s Eve. Now, of course, the question arises, where are the places where it doesn’t pop on New Year’s Eve? Here are some tips from us.

North Frisian Islands

A location in Germany with many thatched houses is often the guarantee of a fireworks-free New Years’ Eve. The risk of fire for such roofing is simply too high. For example, fireworks are completely banned on the islands of Sylt, Föhr, and Amrum in the North Sea. There are only a few exceptions on these islands at Sylt Beach and at Vik-auf-Föhr Harbor, where firecrackers and fireworks are allowed. Thus, dog owners still have many lovely apartments for a relaxing and carefree period of the year. Specific examples here are the Weber thatched holiday home in Amrum or the Wilke holiday home in Før.

Resin

The low Harz mountain range is a popular holiday destination all year round. The Harz is beautifully landscaped and offers plenty of space for long walks. Here, the historic city centers and their half-timbered houses must be protected from fire. Therefore, fireworks are also prohibited here. In addition, fireworks are prohibited throughout the Harz National Park to protect the many wildlife that lives there. So visit places like Wernigerode, Quedlinburg or Goslar, for example! But be careful. Only parts of the old town and the national park are truly explosion-free.

Paris – the City of Love

Our French neighbors have different customs of celebrating the New Year. The French celebrate the New Year in Paris much more calmly and prefer to eat well in a restaurant or at private parties. If you still want a show, we can recommend the Eiffel Tower at midnight. There’s a laser show that makes fireworks redundant!

Venice

The lagoon city is unique in the world for its beauty. In addition, the Venetians have come up with something special for New Year’s Eve. There is a tradition of “kissing instead of bangs”, according to which all couples kiss each other at midnight. A beautiful and equally unique motto that needs to be supported! This is followed by fireworks, otherwise, it is a no-explosion zone.

Rømø Island in the North Sea

On a Danish island in the North Sea, fireworks are banned all year round to protect the many thatched houses. Of course, this also applies to New Year’s Eve. Rømø is located in the Wadden Sea just across the German-Danish border and is easily accessible from the mainland via a dam. There is hardly another place where you can relax and gain new strength as here. You can find beautiful Ryomo holiday homes here: Ryomo holiday homes

Finally, a Few General Tips:

There are some really nice places where there is not much noise on New Year’s Eve. It is best to look for places where there are many thatched or half-timbered houses. You will also find a lot of peace in nature reserves.

Anyway, we wish you all a Happy New Year and enjoy the peace and quiet with your four-legged friend.

Take your dog for a walk on New Years’ morning. Most people are still in bed and you are sure to find peace!
