#7 Mixtures of Coton de Tuléar with other dog breeds or mixed breeds are rather rare.
However: even experts can hardly tell whether a Coton de Tuléar or a Bichon Frisé or a Maltese (all Bichons with white coat) is one of the ancestors of a specific mix. Does not matter. Because their unproblematic nature does not bring any risks for the offspring in the mix.
#8 The Coton’s coat needs daily grooming but never needs clipping. If you make it a habit to brush him every day, you shouldn’t have much of a problem.
You should get your dog used to this combing procedure from puppyhood. Then daily combing and brushing can even strengthen the bond with each other. You should never neglect combing. If it does, you can spend hours untying the felt knots, according to experienced growers. When combing, hair that falls out often comes to light, which is often confused with undercoat.
