Argento colloidale per cani

Colloidal silver is no longer only an issue in human medicine but has also been used successfully in our pets for a long time. The field of application extends over so many areas. Colloidal silver is a true all-around talent! We have compiled the most important information here so that you know what KS is used for and how you can give it to your dog.

Colloidal Silver – What is it anyway?

As early as the 20th century, tiny silver particles, usually mixed with water, were used to relieve infectious diseases and colds, for example. Even then, people knew about the effect of silver. Today, colloidal silver, which is basically nano-sized silver particles incorporated into various other substances, is used for so many things. You can buy the KS as pure silver water, as silver cream, but also as eye drops. Silver has also been used for many years in the form of silver bandages for wounds and burns.

Colloidal silver – the all-rounder

But what can KS actually do? The question should rather be: What can KS not do? These tiny silver particles are able to fight bacteria as well as viruses and fungi. In doing so, they effectively block the metabolism of pathogens. Thus, KS has an antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal effect and is, therefore, a true all-rounder.

The treatment options thus range from the simple cold to skin fungal infections to severe inflammation. Since our dogs are now more frequently plagued by skin problems, immune deficiencies, inflammation, wounds, and colds, there is a wide range of uses for which CS can be used on our dogs.

How is colloidal silver administered?

KS is most commonly used as silver water. The silver particles do not dissolve in water but can be transported into the body more easily with it. There are different concentrations. From 5ppm (parts per million) to 500ppm. A concentration of 5 to a maximum of 25ppm is usually used for pets such as our dogs and is also completely sufficient.

Depending on the underlying disease, it can be used as water (both internally and externally). In the case of skin diseases, for example, a silver cream would be more suitable. In the case of eye infections, special eye drops with KS should be used.

dosaggio

One thing straight away: In principle, colloidal silver cannot be overdosed. There are people who drink liters of KS water every day. However, you should not necessarily overdo it and stick to the general dosage recommendations. You just don’t have to worry if you’ve given a little more.

ATTENTION: If you measure the KS with a spoon, you will NOT use a metal spoon! Otherwise, the silver might react with the spoon. So please always use ceramic or plastic.

Colloidal silver with a concentration of 10ppm

Dogs under 5 kg: 8 drops of KS per kg of body weight
Dogs from 5-12kg: ½ teaspoon CS
Dogs from 12-35kg: 1 teaspoon of KS
Dogs from 35-50kg: 1½ teaspoons CS
Dogs from 50-60kg: 2 teaspoons of CS
Dogs over 60kg: 2 ½ teaspoons of CS

This amount can be given up to 3 times a day.

The best success is achieved when the dog gets the KS on an empty stomach and does not eat anything for 10 minutes before and after. However, he can drink as much as he likes.

Colloidal silver in the form of a cream can be applied to the affected area up to 5 times a day. Depending on the composition of the cream, care should be taken not to lick it off.

Colloidal silver eye drops can be given up to twice a day. Please note the package insert how many drops should be given per eye.
