# 13 Initially, the American Kennel Club did not want to recognize this breed as an independent breed, and took it to the mestizo group. The club in America was opened only in 1909.
# 14 It is worth noting that it was on the American continent that the correct name was fixed for the breed – the orange.
The rest, however, mistakenly called the Spitz either German or dwarf. This trend is now less common, although, in the FCI (International Cynological Organization) classification, Pomeranians are still registered under the name "German Spitz".
