Training and Keeping of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier

In his upbringing, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier must be socialized and used to other dogs at an early stage. Due to its stubbornness and slight stubbornness, this dog needs consistent and strict training. Therefore, as a first dog, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is not for beginners.

Many dogs of this breed dislike being left alone for long periods of time and find this particularly stressful. This stress is then often left out on furniture and furnishings.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers also often bark to get their human’s attention, for example when they feel ignored. Here you should educate a Staffie so that you don’t always give in. On the other hand, the four-legged friend will often resort to these means to be heard.

Because Staffordshire Bull Terrier is naturally very attached to their familiar surroundings and family, they are less likely to run away. Nevertheless, it can happen when the dog feels uncomfortable, unbalanced, and lonely. However, if he has everything he needs, you don’t have to worry about a breakaway.

When feeding you should note that many Staffordshire Bull Terriers are very greedy. They should not be overweight as this is quite detrimental to their physique. Therefore, pay particular attention to the diet of older dogs. A lot of meat and rather less grain should be on the menu.

Also, you should not keep or “train” a Staffordshire Bull Terrier primarily as a guard dog. Since they are inherently protective, they may already be doing it themselves.

If he doesn’t, you shouldn’t force him to do it. The reason for this is the intention not to encourage its aggressive origins.
