#13 Stay in control of your Labrador
Of course, you shouldn't punish your dog, but you still need to control it. Do you walk your dog or does he walk you? How often do you see a dog pulling his mistress or master behind him. Such a walk is relaxing for neither the dog nor the owner.
#14 Distraction during training
If you train in your living room or garden, chances are your lab will do pretty well. Change the environment and you will find that you have a different dog - at least it seems so.
One of the biggest challenges of working with dogs every day is the unexpected distractions that distract your lab's attention. Outside there are exciting smells, other dogs, and noisy cars.
To get your puppy used to the "real" environment, incorporate these distractions into your training schedule. You can use your children, your dog's toys, other dogs, or different sounds. That way, your pup has practice dealing with unexpected distractions.
#15 Stage the training session
This next tip for training a Lab requires you to think a little ahead and envision the things your dog will be up to. Some of these behaviors can be:

Run behind other animals (ducks/cats).
If you think your dog has a problem with a certain situation, recreate it, for example in your yard or in a fenced-off run. Expose your dog to the possible situation and control it.
As usual, reward him immediately if he shows the right reaction.
